The session
How does the day work?
Underdog's private session begins on land. You then enter the water with your instructor.
- 1
Land briefing
On land, the briefing covers the dive plan and safety over about 20 minutes. It also explains how the equipment works.
- 2
Shallow water practice
Simple exercises in shallow water help you get comfortable with the equipment.
- 3
Private dive
The guided dive has a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 meters). It starts once you're comfortable with the practice skills.
The 2.5 hour session includes about 20 minutes of briefing and the private program has no strict time limit. You finish at the meeting point.
Pickup and meeting point
- Hotels and apartments: Come outside your main entrance 30 minutes before the session. Pickup is at 8:30 a.m. for 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. for 1:30 p.m.
- Meeting point: The meeting point is Mangel Halto Beach Sign on Google Maps. The team wears bright long sleeved shirts with the Underdog Divers logo.
- Own transport: With your own transport, you arrange the dive site with your instructor in advance based on sea conditions.
- Using pickup: The instructor chooses the dive location for the day's sea conditions when you use pickup.
From the desk
- At the desk the question was whether a nervous beginner could take extra time. I'd choose Underdog's private program for that, provided you can swim and leave 18 hours before flying.
