Weight limits are real Rancho Notorious stops at 200 lbs. Rancho Loco and the Gold Mine Ranch stop at 220. The Wariruri ride allows 225, the bridge ride and the horse-plus-jeep day 230, El Paseo 250. Rancho Loco says fully clothed and strictly enforced. Don't book above your ranch's number.
What to wear Wear long pants and closed shoes; every ranch says so. Leave the hat behind at the Gold Mine Ranch. Helmets are in the price almost everywhere, and kids wear them at Rancho Loco and the Gold Mine.
Heat The trails have no shade. The 7 and 9 a.m. slots are the comfortable ones; the 2:30 p.m. ride goes in full sun. Sunset rides start at 5. Take water where it isn't in the price.
Kids From 4 at Arubahorsetour and 5 at El Paseo. From 6 at Rancho Notorious and on the bridge ride. From 8 at Rancho Loco and on the horse-plus-jeep day, 10 at the Gold Mine Ranch. Rancho Notorious puts your under-5 on your horse for free.
Galloping The Gold Mine Ranch canters on every ride and nobody dismounts. Rancho Notorious walks on its regular rides and lets advanced riders gallop on the dunes. El Paseo and Rancho Loco are walking rides.
